He Ran Before You Spoke
This is one of the most beautiful stories Jesus ever told.
Not because of how bad the son was…
but because of how good the Father is.
“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him;
he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.”
— Luke 15:20
🧳 The Departure
The son demanded his inheritance — early.
He didn’t want his father, just the money.
And when he got it, he left for “a distant country.”
Sound familiar?
- Wanting freedom from God
- Thinking we know better
- Walking away and calling it “growth”
He wasted it all. Ended up in pig slop.
Alone. Empty. Hungry.
That’s when he remembered home.
🏠The Return
He didn’t return with pride.
He rehearsed a speech:
“I’m not worthy… Just make me a servant.”
But before he could even speak,
his father ran.
He ran.
- No lecture.
- No punishment.
- No cold shoulder.
Just love.
Just grace.
Just home.
đź’¬ The Truth We Miss
The son thought he was coming back to work.
But the father had been waiting to celebrate.
Jesus was showing us:
God is not hesitant with His mercy.
He’s watching the road.
If you’re thinking about turning back —
He’s already running toward you.
đźš‚ The Train Connection
This train carries returning sons and daughters.
You don’t need to be polished. You don’t need to have a speech.
You just need to come home.
There’s a seat waiting.
And your Father is watching the tracks.
🙏 Ask Yourself:
- Have I wandered without realizing it?
- Do I still think I have to earn God’s approval?
- Am I ready to come home, even if I feel unworthy?
