đź’Ž The Pearl of Great Price

What’s Worth Everything

Jesus once described the Kingdom of God in the simplest of terms — a single treasure.

“Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.”
— Matthew 13:45–46

🧭 The Search

The man in the story wasn’t foolish.
He was already successful — a merchant who knew the market, understood value, and spent his life collecting pearls.

But then…
He saw one that stopped him in his tracks.

It wasn’t just beautiful.
It was worth everything.

đź’° The Cost

He sold it all.
Every lesser pearl.
Every comfort.
Every fallback plan.

Why?

Because he knew that no treasure could compare.

đź’¬ We often cling to many little things, afraid to let go.
But the Kingdom? It’s not one more thing on a shelf.
It’s the only thing that belongs there.

🕊 The Trade We All Must Make

This parable isn’t about pearls.

It’s about your heart.

It asks:

  • What are you still holding onto?
  • What comforts are you afraid to trade for something eternal?
  • Are you willing to lose what’s temporary to gain what’s forever?

Jesus didn’t ask the man to give up everything.
The pearl did.
Its value made the choice clear.

đźš‚ The Train Connection

You don’t need to bring wealth to board The Billion Dollar Train.
But you do need to bring a willingness to let go.

To follow means to leave something behind.
To gain Heaven means you might lose a few things on Earth.

But oh, what a trade.

🙏 Ask Yourself:

  • What “lesser pearls” am I clinging to?
  • What’s one thing I need to let go of to follow God more freely?
  • Have I really seen the value of what God is offering me?

🎟️ The train doesn’t charge you to board.
But you might have to leave your baggage behind.
